‘Pathways of Social Research: A Methodological Training’ for
Doctoral Candidates of SC/ST and other Marginalized Groups
11-16 March 2019

CDS is organizing a capacity building programme between 11-16 March, 2019 for doctoral candidates belonging to SC, ST, and other Marginalized Groups.

This programme, funded by ICSSR, intends to enhance the research capability of young scholars.


Objectives and Contents
This interactive workshop is divided into two sessions. The first session aims to provide students with a concise overview of principles, stages, and design of research in social sciences. This session will focus on training students with developing research questions/objectives, collection and presentation of data, research ethics, and dissemination of research findings. The second session aims to improve their academic writing skills with a focus on academic expectations and writing strategies for research papers.

Application Process
A maximum of thirty students will be selected based on their suitability for the programme. CDS will bear the costs of 3-tier AC fare by the shortest route along with food and accommodation for all the participants. Interested candidates should send the completed Application Form, CV and a one-page write-up on your research focus to seminar@cds.edu as an e-mail attachment or by post so as to reach on or before February 4, 2019.
